an agreement
signed between Cotton Arbitration
& Testing General Organization
(CATGO)
and both of United Nation Development
Program
(UNDP)
and Food and Agriculture
Organization
(FAO)
on 7 th June 1978
.

The unique training center in the
Middle East, it plays an important role in
creating a qualified staff of classers and
experts in Egyptian cotton sector and
foreign comers from cotton growing and
industrial countries.

The Training programs of
ICTC
include the theoretical and practical
training in the scope of Classification,
Marketing, Ginning, Fiber Testing, Moisture
determination, Insurance and all other
subjects covering cotton Industry,
beginning from raw material till end product

Training programs are conducted by
professors from universities, research
centers staff and
CATGO’s
specialists.

training labs.

In addition to field trips to
Marketing points, Ginneries, Pressing mills,
Spinning &Weaving companies and different
technical locations belong to
CATGO.

The Annual Training Program Of 2009
In 4th June2011,
The Annual Training Program held in
International Cotton Training Center ( ICTC ) at
Smouha, Alexandria - Egypt for group of
trainees from different segments of the
industry includes university professors,
Researchers, breeders, ginners, traders,
spinners and government officers from different
countries.
The program is designed
to provide a basic education in all aspects of
cotton industry, an extensive field-to-fabric
course, with practical training on manual
classing and the use of HVI and its data, cotton
handling stages, marketing, processing,
manufacturing technologies, field visits to
ginning and pressing
mills, standard grade boxes department
and arbitration sessions in the arbitration
halls done by the sworn experts... etc.
